Baby Face

My midwife said I should get an ultrasound so the doc's won't have any excuse to recommend a c-section in labor. Plus they wanted to make sure baby will be big enough if I go into labor early or something like that...

I had been a bit concerned because I was feeling lots of kicks in my hip, a lot like when Butter was breach so I agreed to have the scan. 

On June 23rd Baby Bucket was measuring 5.5lbs (plenty big) and is head down.

Way. Down.

Yeah!

here is a nose, lips, cheeks, a fist over the eyes, and a bunch of other stuff

and the ultrasound confirmed there is a foot in my left hip

I cannot imagine Bucket is very comfortable being head down with a foot in my hip, but it is much better then not being head down with a foot in my hip.

I have always loved the 4th of July.  Red-White-n-Blue, picnics, watermelon, fireworks, and a late night outside with friends- good times!

I hope we never loose site of what we are celebrating or why we are even in America.  It has very little to do with what is taught in public school, that is for certain.  Brave men and women gave up everything they had ever know to sail across a mass of blue, endured all types of sickness and loss, to worship the God who created them in a free land.  Thank you.

Second Fruits

Obvious Truths???

It may seem like an obvious truth when put in this context, but somehow people are still bambozeled by all the pomp and circumstance surrounding "social" programs. But this is the reality we are talking about when starting to legislate wealth from one sector of society to another.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Look what I did!  I'm so excited.  A friend showed me how to put the first skirt together, but I did rest. Including the baby's outfit!  I am bursting with ideas now!

Eating something from your own garden is somehow very rewarding.  Yum!!!

A Bed for Baby Bucket!

Daddy made a wonderful gift for our new baby and I am so excited.  I just love that he is teaching himself (with the help of a friend, and a bunch of littles) to build things, and he enjoys doing it very much.

This little bed/changing table is custom size to fit right beside my bed.  This will start out as Bucket's bed, but once baby is big enough to roll over we will use it as a changing table.  It is just perfect for what we need, and it is beautiful too.  Great job dad!

(I wonder if he realizes this means I'll be putting in a request list for book shelves and whatever else we need once we are back in to a house, hehe!)
